About the Artist:
In her art of Chinese brush painting, the artist embodies the traditional mysticism of the Orient and the contemporary creativity of the Western art world. Confining materials to Oriental rice papers, silk and gold leaf, the artist uses Chinese brushes, observing the ancient principles and techniques passed down through the centuries by Chinese masters. The image is envisioned in the mind and is never sketched beforehand.A recipient of many awards, Von Kohorn has had one person shows in New York, Connecticut, Florida and Cairo Egypt and has exhibited at the Elliott Museum, the Vero Beach Museum, the Norton Gallery, Lincoln Center and the Pen and Brush Club in New York City. Her paintings are represented in many private collections and in the chambers of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.
