For the last 27 years of my professional career I was Principal Architect and Co-Founder of GYMO PC, a multi-disciplined architectural, engineering and land surveying firm practicing primarily in New York State. My experience includes all aspects of the practice of architecture for a wide range of project types. Art and Architecture have gone hand-in-hand in my creative endeavors over the years. My approach to architectural design has always been to create a “functional art”. In other words, to respond to a set of functional, social and environmental criteria with a design aesthetic that enhances the human experience. Art has always been a passion of mine and I was fortunate to be able to utilize it in the presentation of my architectural design work.Since my retirement from full time architectural practice, I have been able to spend more time and effort developing my fine art skills, something I’ve always wanted to do. Presently, pastel painting is my primary medium. I have studied under several regional artists in northern New York and Canada. My work has been accepted for display in galleries and exhibits throughout the region.
