About the Artist:
Joanne Mohan was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Florida in 1994. Inspired by the surrounding beauty, she decided to fulfill her dream of being an artist. She started out with watercolors under the direction of her first teacher, Diane McCool; and then found the joy of acrylics with her instructor, Frances McCarthy. She continued her studies of acrylics and mixed media at Vero Beach Art Museum and Indian River Community College. In 2002 to complete her artistic desires, she began to paint in oils. Monet's impressionistic art influenced her direction to be creative in her own style. Joanne is a member of the Vero Beach Art Club/Artists Gallery Site, a summer camp art instructor and past president of the Barefoot Bay Artist Guild. She has displayed her art at the Historical Grant House, Vero Beach Hibiscus Festival, Vero Beach Art Museum of Art, Vero Beach Courthouse and received a Certificate of Award, Vero Beach County Administration Office, The Garden of Art gallery, Gallery 14 and the annual Vero Beach Club Art by the Sea show where she won an award. Joanne's love for art and painting gives her pleasure and to be able to paint from the heart and soul so that other may see and enjoy is her desire.
